Mind you Southern Can is one of my all time favourite tracks - I often find myself singing it for some reason. As I recall I first came across it in a boxed set of LPs called something like "The Rural Blues". The box was red. I still have it of course. It's just the canonical ragtime guitar progression, which in recording terms only, pretty much goes back to West Coast Blues by Blind Blake.
