| Porter and Dolly | |
Sorry about yesterday sometimes the days slip by, but today’s update will make up for it. We have in store some really good mixes by good friends of mine, it’s going to be great. Also keep the suggestions about Washington, DC places to see, I’m hoping to catch Wanda Jackson on the 8th, but that’s all I’ve really seen event-wise.
Today’s track is by my all time favorite country music duo - Porter Wagner and Dolly Parton. They did a bunch of songs together and told a bunch of stories and most of them ended badly - but this one, “Mommie Ain’t That Daddy,” might be my favorite because it has a great spoken ending by Porter and the songwriting it top notch.

I enjoyed reading about Porter Wagner and Dolly Parton. I am not familiar with Mr. Porter but my father told me that Porter Wagner a young, shy teenager moved him and his family when he was little in a Dr.Pepper van from a plant run by my great-grandfather. Mr. Porter worked for him and they used the van to move from Aurora, MO to West Plains, MO. Just a neat bit of history that I heard while making a heritage album for my son.
a typo: the fellow’s name is Wagoner (not Wagner).
wish i could hear it… right now the link seems broken or the file removed.
