Tight schedules have really prevented us from getting together to celebrate for very long, so it has been rather protracted, but tonight it closes with Jens Lekman live ! at Duke's Coffeehouse. What better way to celebrate love? Also I think the new design is complete please check it out at honeytest.blogspot.com to make sure it works for several browsers, I've tested it in Firefox and Opera and it looks okay, for some reason Opera displays archives in really big font, but not in Firefox, so that needs to be fixed, but if some nice IE person would check it and make sure it's all messed up, I'd be thankful.
As followers of the blog know I don't like post the same artist twice (expect Lonnie Johnson, who I'd post everyday if I could) but sometimes I have the urge to post someone who I've previously blogged again. I first posted about Ishman (Mississippi) Bracey way back in the early days of the blog, so I figured the time is right for another post. Bracey is a pre-delta blues singer who helped develop the style that Son House and others would later perfect. The thing I like most about Bracey is his sweet sweet voice, such sadness and anger turned into something so sweet and strong. This is one of my all time favorite blues tracks.

Thanks so much. What you are doing here is what makes blogs great! (Loved that Vicksburg Blues track.)2/16/2005 12:29:51 AM|||Geoffrey Balasoglou|||Isn't the margin for entries a little too narrow?
Also could you add my email to your email list, geofflikesmusic at yahoo.com since I do write for you.2/16/2005 05:42:29 PM|||Rob Hutten|||Hi Peter,
Mississippi Bracey and Ishmon Bracey are two different people...
They have seperate entries in Dixon & Godrich, and aural evidence settles it - similar guitar styles, but very different voices.
Both excellent - Ishmon is one of my favourites.

Also, what's up with the low quality of the Ishman Bracey track? I assume you only have the song in that form, and I guess it's not exactly something we need a lot of sonic clarity on, but I was just a little surprised to get one at 64kbps! Regardless, it's a nice track. I should check out more of his stuff.|||The new design looks pretty cool, but is there any way you can make the text a little bigger? I'm using firefox and it's really tiny.
