Jens Lekman was really wonderful last night, playing a wonderful set of songs, solo and with his band (sans violin) player and then for an encore he sang us a few songs outside. I finally picked up the LP and the Rocky Dennis EP also. Also remember that my radio show is tonight, 7-9pm EST and it streams live at wuag.net.

I was preparing to post a Hattie Hart song "I let My Daddy Do That" and I uncovered that she sang lead on a few Memphis Jug Band tracks. Memphis Jug Band were one of the more popular blues groups of the time featuring great talent Will Shade singing lead on most of the songs. This song is a variation of the standard Cocaine Blues or Take A Wiff On Me, and it's really great feature a stellar performance by Hart which I think is even better than her solo work. The track falls apart by the end, as everyone minus Hart tries to harmonize but its still a very solid track.
